The dreaded H1N1 virus

The H1N1 virus have been spreading like wildfire in Singapore. As of today, there were a total of 1,111 confirmed cases. Initially, those who where having this virus got it from overseas but there were increasingly more cases that got the virus locally. It's kinda scary especially when pregnant women and the sick and elderly are of the higher risk group. Though it is advisable to wear a mask when out in the public, nobody so far has done that yet. I guess that is one of the reasons why the virus has been spreading so rapidly as the people here are not civic conscious and socially irresponsible. In the first place, if one is sick, he/she should have stay at home. Even if there's a need for them to go out, they should at least have the courtesy to wear a mask. Sigh...I guess I'll have to be more careful myself.

Well, I'm glad that I have my own transport. At least the risk of contacting the virus while taking train / bus is not there. I've also practically reduce my shopping trips but it's such a pity to do so since it's the Great Singapore Sale period and this is the time to scout for baby items. I've also been thinking whether I should go for social gatherings with the latest one to be on 17 Jul and another one on 23 Jul. Sometimes, I wonder if I'm getting over paranoid but with a precious life inside me, it's better to be paranoid than sorry.
